Brilliant Marketing

Nine Inch Nails is offering GarageBand projects of songs on their new album. This is an example of understanding the music market in 2007. It's much easier to download the track for free somewhere else than to download the project and output the track. But encouraging fans to remix your music is a way to engage with the fan base. Once you've got them engaged you can make a lot of money from things that are not little pieces of plastic that do the same thing as that file I mentioned above.
